Art Therapy

Working with me in Art Therapy, the process can enable you to become aware and understand thoughts and feelings which may have been buried and difficult to verbalise. 

 

Together we can explore and find meaning in the material that you present through artwork and discussion. We can focus on habits and patterns of behaviour that you might want to change if they are self sabotaging or destructive, or lead to depression or anxiety.

 

Art Therapy can help you to give unspoken or unconscious aspects of yourself meaning and identify any traumas from the past and triggers in the present which may cause you distress or anxiety. We can also identify creative blocks to your imagination and explore using the art materials.

 

It is not necessary to have any art skills for art therapy. All the material and issues that you present in the sessions will come from you, not me. I will reflect back to you any interpretations or reflections that might be helpful to your understanding of yourself. 

 

It is a gentle process which will not involve any confrontation or intervention, just suggestions and reflections.

All the work is entirely confidential.

The 50 minute session costs £70. I have a sliding scale for those on low incomes and students.
